The Xansys system... HPAC DE is the new on line data entry system from House of Images which provides access to data and images from any computer with internet access. This means that those with the necessary permissions can access, edit and add data and images from any internet computer. This is ideal for organisations with geographically disparate sites which may need to pool and share their resources since the system can be administered and accessed from anywhere. New database records and images can be instantly added to the front end web site by both the administrator and authorised users. [more]

Image Management... ...the core software module within the imaging suite of programs is the Management System. A range of simple yet comprehensive query facilities allow records to be rapidly retrieved and images can be displayed, with their descriptive text, in a range of different sizes. Additional features include a Carousel for viewing images in pre-determined sequences, a module for handling maps and video sequences, and a print facility, which enables images to be printed out at a range of sizes with or without their descriptive text...   ...HoI’s public access modules (PAM) are simplified versions of the Management System for operation using either mouse or touch screen. Searching for images is done using keyword lists which can be either single level or hierarchical (multi) level... [more]

Run Time Modules... ...HoI’s Run Time Module provides the facility to master selections from an image database onto CD-ROM. One organisation to take advantage of this is Central Library in Manchester who, following the award of a grant from the Wolfson British History Programme in November 2000, started a project with the objective of broadening the scope of their photographic collection and building on its’ appeal to young people. For the project 3000 images were chosen from the collection, in close consultation with the LEA, and transferred to CDROM.
