Since the image archive at Huddersfield was first set up in 1997 it has grown steadily and now holds around 40000 images. The original images are predominantly glass plate with many coming from the collection of the Huddersfield Examiner. Over the past year public access viewing points have been installed in the libraries at Huddersfield, Cleckheaton and Dewsbury as well as in the offices of the Huddersfield Examiner.

The latest system was installed at Holmfirth Library during February.
